Conference Theme: Applied linguistics in the Asia-Pacific region
The theme we’ve chosen for the conference is designed to celebrate our special place in the world. The conference will provide an opportunity to learn about applied linguistic research in contexts we are familiar with, and in new contexts. It will be a time to think and talk about the connections in applied linguistics and between applied linguists in the Asia-Pacific region. We look forward to welcoming you to Wellington/Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara, and together developing common narratives for applied linguistics across borders.

We welcome abstracts for the following:
Papers: a traditional 25-minute conference presentation followed by 5 minutes for discussion Posters: ideal for those who don’t want to present to an audience Colloquia: a 90-minute slot for 3 – 5 speakers on a coherent theme We welcome research-based papers that relate to the conference theme in any of the many areas that make up the field of applied linguistics, including:
